But, if you’re one of “my boys” and talk really fast…not so good
Regardless, Google Voice is mad cool. Here are some instructions on trying it out as Voicemail.
There’s always something to howl about.

I’ve been using it for a few weeks now myself. My translator would truly be more of the ‘bot’ persuasion.
Being able to read you VM via text or email is a killer time saver. The future of Google Voice and other apps will be real interesting. There’s was a good article in the WSJ a couple of days ago called “Why AT&T killed Google Voice”. The big question on everyone’s mind is will this be the game changer consumers need to have TelCom data to flow more freely?

Eric,
Stellar article. Google voice is really revolutionary. I will surely try this out soon. It’s like having a personal secretary, how cool is that?

@Brad – it will be interesting to see the technology evolve. Google has a big step up on everyone b/c of the 1-800-goog-411 experience, and I think that if people contribute by voting up/down the helpfulness of the transcription, it will improve.
The big game changer, in my opinion, will be when you can port your phone # over to GV. I have an android phone and tried out GV as a primary service for a bit, and it was as good as my normal service. There’s no reason for me not to transfer the number over, when that option is available.
@Robert – thanks for the kudos! Definitely check it out – you’ll be glad you did!

@Brad – definitely shows who was coding the software. They think that “server launch” is a more common phrase than “after lunch.”

I use the service myself. I give it a B+ for now. If you want the best transaltion service then skip google/voice, but the other services are amazing.
