You know, it is funny…
Brad Coy sent me a nice note last night and just while I was appreciating that, my wife started laughing and sent me this little snippet from Fox News.
Two quick points.
1) Apparently REALTORS are not the only ones with an industry image problem. My line of work has it too! (grin)
2) Friendless? Note to my industry…if you are not making friends and networking as you go, you are not building True Authority. You are doing it wrong. (too funny…) I suppose that we all sit in our basement and hack all day as well….grin
I did not pick my profession, it picked me. And I certainly did not select it because I wanted to be anti-social. Far from it!

Too funny.
So, I have a son who is working through the big decision of what he wants to do with his life, and it is a bit of a problem because his interests are varied, but also because, as the snippet demonstrates, most of us really don’t know what it is that other people do all day. Most of us see finished work, or finished products, or bits and pieces of a job, but not the real work.
How many posts are written, on this blog alone, about people who thought real estate was one thing when they got their license, only to find it was a whole other thing once they started working. People in general do a rank job (no pun) of sharing the details of our professions.
>f you are not making friends and networking as you go, you are not building True Authority.
“building True Authority” nobody does it better. And being a fellow member of the Swallow Hill Scenius, I can vouch for your social skills. Never once did you pass up an opportunity to socialize. 😉

Eric,
“I did not pick my profession, it picked me.”
A face to love.
A wit to match.
A heart that pumps love coast to coast.
A spirit shared.
You’re absolutely correct. You did not pick your profession. But you know who did, and He’s made quite the number one draft selection in my opinion.

Nice post Eric. I don’t really think Realtors have a bad image. Also I really can’t imagine SEO pro’s are friendless either.
