The problem with running an ad (and the countdown itself) until Nov 30 is that to be eligible for the tax credit, the home purchase must close by Nov 30.
So really the effective expiration time is a good 30 days earlier than indicated.
Hopefully no one sees that there are, for example, 20 days left until the credit expires and thinks they can still take advantage of the credit.
If I were going to post this, I’d put a big giant disclaimer by the widget clearly stating the transaction must close before the clock hits zero…
-Joe, I’m pretty sure Widgetbox is getting the juice…but link baiting aside, I still think using their service is pretty useful. Could you see doing a pasco county restaurant of the week widget that feeds your latest blog post about a pasco restaurant, then dropping news of the widget out to a few local bloggers or twitter folk?
-Jay. Good point. My head (as always) was more concerned with the widget than the actual nuts and bolts of what’s going on in real estate world π That, and for the record, I really don’t think it would be a good idea for NAR to run that thing – I was sorta trying to leverage the current zeitgeist where agents are blaming lack of interest in the credit for everything, and was hoping someone around here would tear me a new one on this front…
