I have very alpha software that makes a KML file that Google Maps will eat to make something like this:
It’s kinda-sorta like ZeeMaps, except I get a true Google Maps map, which I can then customize and embed.
I start with a list of addresses, which I can type if I absolutely have to.
There’s more: I’m going to build in the ability to create an engenu folder structure from the list of addresses, so that a site like this essentially builds itself.
For that kind of engenu site, I’ll cut my time from 40 minutes to 20 minutes, on the order of two minutes a page for brand new, original, knock-your-socks-off content.

Greg – This is so cool! Chuck Welch over at LakelandLocal.com – a hyperlocal blog in our neck of the woods, has been porting addresses over into CommunityWalk maps for me since November of 2008. You can see an example of these in one of my Winter Haven, Florida Housing reports.
Will you be able to easily port in things like listed and sold price, whether it was a condo, a 3 br/2ba home, etc?
The pain of it all, is that his process is a bit time consuming – which is the point you made here (saving time) that really made my ears perk up!

This looks interesting. I have used Zeemaps before but was unhappy with the interface. Google maps have become the benchmark for online mapping now. Thanks for sharing!

I have thought a lot (and failed trying a few different methods) about creating buyer sites showing all the properties a buyer has seen, along with their notes, comments, price changes, and the eventual sale price or status of the property.
The link in this post seems to be accomplishing a lot of these things (in a more efficient way) than anything I can come up with.
Do you have any concerns as a real estate agent about posting your thoughts on these properties while they are still on the market? I was worried that I could be crossing some lines by saying something like “too close to the freeway to bother”.
I love this idea!

Greg,
Fantastic… will this alpha software be far enough along that you will be talking about it (teaching it) at Unchained?

It looks like a great tool for buyers that wish to use a map to find a new home. Will they be able to put a price range in as well?
