interesting, those numbers fairly closely reflect my numbers, except my single men and single women numbers are reversed.

It’s always good to know this stuff. I think the age demographic may be a little bit more revealing so I’ll have to check out the article at the other end of the link. 20% single women is eye opening, though. I wonder if there are demographics for people with children as well. On the face of it a single person may only need a 2 BR which would help the condo market and older home market but if all these single women have kids it creates a whole different need.
Interesting stuff, though.

I like that one, Dave.
The demographic data reported is detailed and really useful. Now…who’s off to create a PPC campaign, on Facebook, targeted at married 30 year olds in San Diego?

That is useful information to anyone’s marketing campaign! The 20 percent single women outnumbering men is an interesting statistic. Many of my single women clients have just come out of or are going through a divorce. I wonder if statistically many get into a home as a couple and when things don’t work out it tends to be the woman that is looking on her own for a new home. I offer it as a possibility and I would be curious to know the real reason for the disparity.

Dave, thanks for pointing out that article. Those are very interesting statistics. My single men and woman home buyers match up with those numbers. Statistically I believe woman outnumber men…maybe its just that simple.

It would be interesting to see if we could find a demographic on single parents. Then we could break down the numbers of single men and women buying homes to get a rough idea of how many 1 or 2 bedroom places might be sold, vs with kids, 2 or 3 bedroom places. Very interesting to think about.
