More than a month ago, I said that I was going to do the custom web pages for any new listings as WordPress weblogs. Lucky me, since then we’ve sold down our inventory of listings, but we haven’t added any new ones. That changes Thursday, and there are at least two more out there on the near horizon.
Couldn’t happen at a busier time, but I can’t be any busier than Danier Rothamel of The Real Estate Zebra, and he’s already done two TypePad weblogs for his listings: 10 Tallwood Trail and 1179 Rustic Willow Lane. The sites are slick overall, but I think the links out to the vendors of upgraded features is an especially nice touch.

Greg,
Thanks for the plug. I am considering using WordPress in the future, but I am going to have to become MUCH more proficient in coding before that happens. For now, using Typepad saves me a lot of time and gives my client a product that they are happy with. One of the best features of using the blog format is the ease wtih which it is found by search engines. Another benefit is that I can easily track site traffic. Can’t wait to see what you are able to do with WordPress.

With a colleague of mine, I recently pitched for a very nice, very expensive high-end listing (~$7M) and as part of our pitch we put together a mock-up of what a blog for that property might look like.
The sellers were suitably impressed — flattered, even — about the whole concept.
Alas, we didn’t get the listing in the end, but it was certainly a great experience.
Would love to share the url of the listing in question, but to respect the confidentiality of the home in question — and the fact that we don’t actually have the listing 🙁 — I unfortunately can’t.
Great work, Daniel.
