What came out of last night’s Presidential debate? No matter who wins, we all lose. As painful as it might be to suffer a quick drop in housing values, followed by a recovery, we are in for a much more extended agony. Whether Obama wins in November or McCain, we’re in for an lengthy period of government “help” — mortgage work-outs or price supports or some other crafty means of disguising the true value of homes. This might be good for you if you are headed for foreclosure but haven’t yet crossed the bar, but it promises years of depressed housing prices for everyone else.
That’s bad for homeowners — but good for many landlords. And it’s bad for lenders who have perfected the art of re-financing the same clients again and again — but good for lenders who can generate the flow of new business necessary to live off of primary purchase loans. And a perpetually plateaued real estate market is very bad for by-owners sellers and lazy, stupid, cheap Realtors — but very good for Realtors who can actually get the job done.
An all of this is why you should be coming to BloodhoundBlog Unchained in Orlando. We’re about nothing but practical tactics for taking advantage of the internet to build your business — which is precisely what you need to be doing right now. Real estate has always been a hard way to make an easy living — and it’s about to get a lot harder. The Realtors and lenders who can sustain a pipeline of viable prospects will prosper in the coming years. The rest will get other jobs.
Here’s just a few of the topics we’ll be talking about:
- Brian Brady will show you how to build a presence on the internet so that your prospective clients will not be able to go anywhere without finding you.
- Mitch Ribak will talk to you about the techniques he and his team are using to close dozens of transactions a month.
- Kelly Koehler will share with you her unique pay-per-click strategies, using an array of long-tail keywords to net clients at a very low acquisition cost.
- Eric Blackwell will investigate the art of leveraged SEO: Simple tactics you can deploy at once to improve your search engine performance.
- John Rowles will explore his ideas on a networked IDX system that can serve both as a statewide (or nationwide) MLS system and also as a referral network.
- I’ll be going through everything we’re doing to get our listings sold in a market where nothing is selling.
And there’s much more beyond that, including ideas on how to take your marketing from unremarkable to unbeatable in nothing flat.
It could be we’re marketing against the market for real estate training events: We don’t do drunken binges, and we don’t do pillow fights. What we are going to do is a very long day of hard-headed, hard-nosed, hard-hitting strategies for marketing your business right now — not just in the Web 2.0 world but in the shattered world of real estate as it is right now. If you’re looking to have a blast, we might not be your best bet. But if you want to blast your business into a much higher orbit, we’re the only game in town.
We’re in Orlando because we can help Realtors in ways the NAR hasn’t even heard of. But Central and Southern Florida is ground zero for the hard-hit real estate market. If you’re wondering how you’re going to survive next year, we’re coming to town to talk about how we’re going to survive next year. No consultants, no magazine columnists, no professional schmooozers — just hard-working grunts-on-the-ground talking about how we survive the daily combat that is the real estate market today.
We’re in Orlando on Friday November 7th, from 8 am to 8 pm, at the Crowne Plaza Hotel and Conference Center, Orlando Airport, 5555 Hazeltine National Dr, Orlando, FL 32812. If you’re flying in for the NAR Convention, arrive early and you can park you bags at the back of the room. If you’re local, we’re a short drive from almost anywhere in Florida, and you can organize a car pool for your office.
This is not to be missed. The PayPal button shown below will get you a ticket at the discounted price of $99. Everyone has to pinch pennies right now, but we know we’re delivering thousands of dollars of value to people who implement our ideas over the next year. And, should you disagree, we’ll refund every penny you paid.
But you need to commit now. We’re one month out from the event, and we need to finalize our planning. Click the button now and we’ll see you next month in Orlando.

I know I cannot make it to Orlando. Will DVD’s be available for purchase this time? I know the answer is somewhere on the site but it’s early and I’m being lazy. Besides I bet others want to know too. I want to buy them if they will be available.

Definitely no DVDs. Brian and I have been talking about audio recordings, but we haven’t made any plans in that direction so far.

My .02, fwiw:
I’ve been writing here for 1.5 yrs and yet, the other night I spent hours pouring over the archives here, reading stuff I had never seen. I don’t think there are many (any?) other real estate blogs I can say that about.
$99.00? I have hours and hours invested in looking through the archives here. To go to BHBU for 12 hours and have the best of BHB and beyond, culled for me? Pared down the facts? Sharing that with other people on the spot? Yeah. Definitely worth it.
It says in the sidebar: Welcome to BloodhoundBlog, the national real estate industry marketing and technology weblog written by, for and about real estate professionals. Better yet, welcome to the wired world of real estate. We are busily inventing Real Estate 2.0 — technology, marketing, service and salesmanship.
And that’s the different between what I learn here and what I’ve learned at other conferences and classes (and have paid much more for). Bloodhound is not just marketing, or marketing online, it’s the reason behind the marketing and gives you tools to invent your own marketing. If I can quote R. Riccelli, “it’s marketing informed by intelligence, evidence and diligence.”
That’s what I find missing from so much real estate marketing whether it’s online or off. Bloodhound exemplifies a passion for marketing and for excellence that I’ve not seen anywhere else. OTOH, I’d love to hear about it if there is another site that can surpass this one.

What about video taping the event and charging a fee to view it? Due to the economy, I am sure there are many that can’t make it to Orlando, but they would definitely benefit from what will be presented at the event.

If, as Teri says, you work the archives here, you’ll be way ahead of the game.
Looking forward to seeing you.
