Everybody now is the media and the media is the great equalizer…
I love it, I’m scared of it and I’m glad I’m part of it (how’s that for schizophrenic?)

Well, for a guy that’s not supposed to be too-in to the Web 2.0 spectrum (according to your comments) you throw out some pretty deep stuff. Since you have utilized a USG platform to deliver your message you obviously know that now, WE KNOW a lot more about YOU then we did before and so does the entire world.
You know, Hillary Clinton recently found that out the hard way with her comments about Bosnia. All of a sudden film footage showed up all over the place that had her making back tracks pretty quick.
Now what you say can be used against you later if you uh…screw up,,,, or otherwise.
Pretty heavy stuff indeed.

I agree with the post that talent will rise to the top; however, I’m not entirely sure where he was going with some of his takes and his style is somewhat halting and bi-polar. The point is that I watched it and listened to the message. That is 1:30 out of my day devoted to a wine salesman whom no one has ever heard of. Wow. The power of social media is very dynamic.

Gary Vaynerchuk is very widely known in the Web 2.0 world. He’s essentially built his entire business on Web 2.0 techniques and principles. He’s not saying talent will rise to the top, he’s saying that liars and crooks will no longer have any place to hide.

Gary V is available via Twitter at: http://twitter.com/garyvee
Strange to see Gary V in the context of a real estate blog and comments that no one has every heard of him, even though he’s been featured on Late Night with Conan O’Brien, Time, and GQ Magazine.

I wish there was a Gary V equivalent in real estate. Oh well.

Good job on posting that link Greg.
One of the highlights of my recent trip to Austin for SXSW2008 was getting to connect with Gary. Quite simply, the guy is one of most passionate, real people that I’ve ever met and someone that everybody in the ‘marketing2.0’ should pay close attention to.

This points to a lot of mis connection or lack thereof from within the entire real estate community. Remember the same ones who keep handing out business cards with pictures that are 10 or more years outdated.
I am an admitted technology junkie, and my business evolves around Video on the internet
and Marketing 2.0 is very much a part of that. I also worked in the Real Estate Industry, the same one my wife is in, and see that many long time Agents and Brokers are kicking all the way to adopt to change.
The #1 largest reason to adopt to this change is to be able to CONNECT with your future buyers….that is our kids….they have grown up on Technology and now many are into their first homes or will be approaching that point soon.
Your comment was right on the mark.
