My mother use to sing this to me at night before bedtime (she was a very good singer by the way)
If I remember correctly it started off (at least her version):
Wild Cat Willy was a’lookin mighty pale
Standing by the jailers side
And when that Sherriff said
“I’m a’takin you to jail
Wildcat hung his head and cried
then it breaks out into the song.
You’ve brought a big smile to my face — wonerful memories too.
Actually, I’ve been asked this question on a regular basis since I became a BHB contributor. I chose to answer publicly because the frequency has significantly increased this last week. 😀
I was laughing so hard my husband had to ask me to explain… Now you’ve got him laughing. We talk in acronyms all the time (does that make us geeks?), now a new one enters the lexicon. Thanks, Jeff!

I should also add this video is David Byrne doing Cole Porter’s “Don’t Fence Me In”.
Cole Porter, New York sophisticate, creates a classic cowboy song. How’s that for freedom?
Byrne created this for the “Red, Hot, and Blue” Aids fund raiser cd.

Mike-
If that’s not the exact wording, it’s very close.
My favorite line of this song is somewhat obscured in the video:
“Send me off forever but I ask you please, Don’t fence me in”
Obviously you’ve taken your mom’s advice to heart. 🙂

Teri …
That. Was. Brilliant.
A one word pithy, irrefutable rebuttal to BHBDS.
[ONLY NOW have I found out what’s been swirling the last week. Good heavens people love to be offended…]

Now you have to tell me what BHBDS means.
