Here is a selection from Brian Brady for the theme for BloodhoundBlog Unchained, Bruce Springsteen doing Born to run.
Opening line in the video:
“Remember, in the end, nobody wins, ‘less everybody wins”
and the last stanza of the song:
The highway’s jammed with broken heroes on a last chance power drive
Everybody’s out on the run tonight, but there’s no place left to hide
Together, Wendy, we’ll live with the sadness
I’ll love you with all the madness in my soul
Someday, girl, I don’t know when, we’re gonna get to that place
Where we really want to go, and we’ll walk in the sun
But ’til then, tramps like us, baby, we were born to runI grew up in Jersey so it biases my selection. If you’re 17, driving down Route 9 to Avalon, and Born to Run comes on the FM, you feel completely Unchained.

Joe Strummer says:
Good choice. Less up-beat, but great Springsteen song, Atlantic City:
“Now there’s trouble bussing in from out of state, and the DA can’t get no relief. Gonna be a rumble out on the promenade, and the gambling commission’s hanging on by the skin of its teeth. Well everything dies, baby that’s a fact; maybe everything that dies, will someday come back.”

Certainly you could transform the lyrics to something like.
“Now there’s trouble flying in from out of state, and the NAR can’t get no relief.”

How about the first line?
“In the day we sweat it out in the streets of a runaway American dream”
This definitely speaks to “our” generation! (I’m a “Rosalita” girl, myself!)
Great idea!

Brian Brady says:
Jeanne, that first line does speak to “us”…today (runaway American dream).
Joe- Atlantic City can be depressing to me because I remember the hope gaming was supposed to bring (and failed to deliver).
We will get to that place, all of us, and go for a walk in the sun…and kick those broken heroes out.
See you at Unchained! I’ll be the guy with the work boots on.

Rosalita, Saint in the City, Atlantic City, all that stuff. The Band’s version of Atlantic City kills me. Play that with Drive South by John Hiatt — “Just leave those pretty legs, showin’, it gets hot down where we’re goin’.” I owe my everything to Thunder Road.

No — nor anything like that.

Familiar with it at all?
I used to speak a Robert Kiyosaki’s (Rich Dad/Poor Dad) 3+ day seminars…watching your promotion of BloodHound Unchained reminds me of certain aspects Robert (who was an estTraining grad) used to integrate into his ‘program’…just wondering if it was coincidence or not…

Means nothing to me. I don’t do anything that would qualify as a ‘program’ — that’s the polar opposite of what I am talking about.

Robert D. Ashby says:
OK, I have to chime in my thoughts on this one. I like how Pink Floyd started the song Keep Talking…
“For millions of years mankind lived just like the animals, then something happened which unleashed the power of our imagination, we learned to talk”
Why not take an adaptation and go like this…
For thousands of years mankind had simply talked, then something happened which unleashed the power of our imagination, we learned to blog”
What do you think?
