If you haven’t been following the rhetoric on tech sites such as Mashable, you should get started. Many people are just grasping the concept of Web 2.0 but did you know it’s already dead? So, we move on from shiny badges and transparent speech and move to Web 3.0 with network integration. That’s the ticket (to steal a line from Jeff)!
But wait, that ship is already leaving the dock! Just as you grasp Web 2.0, Web FOUR POINT OH is born!!! Get ready tech nerds and noobs alike- the competition is cut throat to find the perfect mathematical equation to apply all of this new data.
Who do you suspect is at the starting line while most people didn’t know a race was even on? Let us know in the comments!

Please refer to the authority on the subject, Tim O’Reilly, who thinks the incessant versioning is stupid too:

But is easy to grasp – Web 3.0, or whatever, is simply about using semantic data. More here:

Since Web 2.0 was about the mash-up (1+1=2), Web 3.0…The semantic, smarter, social networking-alicious Web 3.0 (1=1=3…Web 4.0 would seem to be the mash-up of of these new thangy social networking mash-ups with existing mash-ups (1+1=4)?
Without reading the link, it seems ironic that the guy who coined the term Web (version) 2.0 (O’Reily) thinks a continuation of the terminology he started, is stupid..?

…who stole it from Jon Lovitz, SNL late 80’s…yeaaah…
and I agree with Jay! Unfortunately I find the 2.0/3.0/whatever.0 world too mesmerizing, especially since I learned programming on cobalt on a dos! It takes serious discipline on my part to step away from the computer!
