It’s a damn shame that Realtor.com is such a hosing. If they ran that site to service REALTORS, then all these other sorry sites would be totally useless.
Yep… it’s a damn shame.

While I agree that listing sites are nearly ubiquitous, hotpads is at least providing nicely formatted plain XML. By doing so they are allowing you to make use of the data in a semi semantic, read/write way – which is a lot more than I can say for most sites.
By the way, if it only cost a couple of grand to write hotpads.com, that makes it bubble proof. The old bubble was a result of VCs giving people with lame ideas ( pets.com ) tens of millions in cash.
“…There is no Web 2.0 “bubble”, only an every growing bubble of people wishing there was.”

They might have spent less on their logo and a little more on their research. They highlight our little half size sister city to the north, you know, the little D http://www.texasalmanac.com/facts/ and leave out Houston as a large market. I did not explore to see if they are not pulling the HAR.com IDX feeds, or they think the 4th largest city in the US is unimportant. Especially with oil at $97/barrel. I guess they burn peat moss in their heaters.
