It took a while to sink in, but now I really appreciate the semi-subtle nature of your “blog” – this industry really is Good, Bad, and Ugly, leaning considerably toward the latter two at this time. As for the choice of medium, you can’t make a mockery of Spaghetti Western that was already a parody of itself, even with ukuleles. How much more can Real Estate be mocked at present?
Depending upon your perspective, I really did pick a bad time to relo career and family during this little “downturn.” But then again, maybe not – we’re really all in this badly leaking boat together. I’m pretty much at even footing – especially in Florida – with everyone else.
You ability to find the appropriate and obscure – simultaneously – is uncanny. A picture is worth a thousand words, but a uke concert speaks volumes.
Funny, sitting here in Bonsall, CA, the fires just north of us in Fallbrook having displaced 45,000 people, perhaps 200 to 500 lost, avocados and livelihoods destroyed, our van and car packed with mementos, fatigued from the last sleepless nights and tense days, and then on a lark I tuned into BloodHound for my daily fix….to find your entry.
Don’t know if I’ve captured the reason for your gift, but believe me, it is a gift, this music you’ve provided. Didn’t hear a note about “Real Estate” in your blog. Nope, not a thought going through my head about Good, Bad, Ugly, or parodies. Instead, what I heard was a few minutes of simple yet elegant music delivered in harmony by artists who have come together to create and share.
You have to know that in San Diego now, the simple yet elegant acts of the cast of homeowners, firefighters, volunteers and victims are casting an opportunity among us to create and share. Perhaps you didn’t mean it like this, but I needed a respite, and this simple piece of music resounds with me as a metaphor for one-act dramas that are occurring simultaneously in this community right now.
Art- This was my take on what is happening in the Dayton area as we wait for the subprime meltdown to hit full force. I just don’t know how much more this community can take. My fear runs deep and it’s going to be a desolate place soon.
I posted this because I know that each person who sees this can bring their own unique perspective to it.
I hadn’t thought of it in the terms you’ve described, and your comment is quite moving. My prayers are with you and your community, all of CA. We just found out that our San Diego family has returned to their homes, all are as well as can be expected. I can only imagine what you are going through.
I’m delighted that you enjoyed the video. In the end, that’s what matters.

Thanks for the rest.
