Starting tomorrow and running through Saturday, Cathy and I will be at the Starpower Conference. Russell Shaw is one of the Stars, so he’ll be there as well. I may write about some of what transpires there, but I wouldn’t be at all surprised if my output is curtailed.
Almost immediately after that is Inman Connect. Kris Berg, Brian Brady and Dan Green will be in attendance, so you might get a chance to meet them there. Even so, I don’t think they’ll be live-blogging the event.
But: Brian Brady will be presenting at the Show Me The Leads event. And Dan Green will be a part of 10 Tips From Bloggers.
I’m not going to Inman, but I’ll be monitoring every little breathless announcement of useless new sucker-bait for Realtors and lenders. I have no use for trade shows, but I had a great time last summer making fun of all the goofy crap vendors try to peddle at these things.
In any case, if posting is a little light over the next seven or eights days, you’ll know the reason.

Greg, I was on the fence about attending myself. That changed when the Sellius guys announced BlogTourUSA, and a stop here in Denver. After throwing together a get together of 23 bloggers and 17 interested in starting a blog, my thought was, “Why didn’t I think to do this a long time ago?”
I don’t care if I read a blog every day, I won’t really know that person until I meet them in the flesh. The night before Blogger’s Connect, everyone is getting together to have some beers. The chance to meet in person with Dan Green, Jeff Corbett, Dustin Luther… guys I’ve been swapping emails with for years, is what I look forward to. That alone is worth the flight.

The free beer certainly has allure, Todd. I’m looking forward to meeting you, Dan Green, and of course, Kris Berg among others.

In a twisted sort of way, I am actually looking forward to Inman. Greg – I know a gaunlet thrown when I see one. I will make every attempt to blog from the abyss, unless of course the beer gets in the way.
By the way, who will be accepting the Innovator Award on your behalf?
Now, what to wear…

Our behalf, if you please. I think Brian will only be there for the first day, so it’s up to you and Dan Green. The “ceremony” only lasts 15 minutes, so you’ll have to keep your acceptance speech short.

I was afraid of that. Back to the central issue: What to wear. 🙂

I’m thinking Lindsay Lohan won’t be needing her tiara next week. You could ask to borrow it.

i looooove all the goofy crap.
When we started our company, we swore we’d never buy booth space at a conference. I’ve seen so many previous firms just throw cash away at trade shows for lousy return year after year. Ironically, I now find that my interaction with the attendees at the Inman conferences have been consistently outstanding – better friends/partners/customers than I’ve ever encountered at other tradeshows. So now we’re actually tempted…
We haven’t given in yet though: we’ll not be exhibiting this year, but we will be prowling the hallways. That’s the best part of any conference anyway.
I’ll see if I can pick up some free key chains and boxes of mints for you Greg.

Cameron was very young when he understood that he would never run out of Frisbees, stress balls or oversized tee shirts. No more of those spin-between-your-palms helicopters, though. I should go to MacWorld next year to restock.
