Surely fifty million Frenchmen can be as wrong as one, but just try getting them to admit it! David Platt makes an interesting argument about why the iPhone will fail, but, even stipulating his entire case, it seems reasonable to suppose that most early-adopters will be stout fans for at least two years — the length of the service contract with AT&T.

The entire blog posting is crap. I know everyone is waiting to see if a goliath like Apple, an untouchable beauty to the media, will drop the ball on something as important as their foray into the hotly contested cell phone market but honestly his entire entry was meaningless. Greg, you could do much better.

It is my understanding that it will bomb, but not the phone itself- it will be the less than slow bandwidth of it’s carrier. The dog on the skateboard will be in slow motion, or worse- reverse.

I am a realtor in Portland OR who happens to have a boyfriend that is a huge fan of apple and not because he has scored over $50k in the last year trading apple stock. He worked for apple in London many years and loves the apple product(s) and simple design of the apple product(s).
I switched to a macbook from a pc last summer, at his urging and LOVE it! I would never go back to a pc!
When the iphone was due to be released, boyfriend said he would wait a few months “until the bugs, if any, had been worked out. Well, that changed come launch day as we head to the mall to get the phone and announced that he would buy not only himself a phone but would also buy one for me!
I ported my existing sprint phone number (had Treo with palm os) to att and had a connection within 10 minutes!
I LOVE THIS PHONE!!!!! We cannot put them down! I am blown away by the features, design, ease of use and the network speed vs the Treo!
I did have to go back to the rmls office and get my electronic key as supra will not use their keys via blue tooth technology – must be infra red and the iphone doesn’t have ir yet.
This being said, THIS PHONE IS WORTH EVERY PENNY AND MORE!!! I can’t remember the last time I got this excited about a new product in my life.
I know this will become a “can’t live without it” tool as a realtor!!!
Last word – run down to your apple store and get one!!!!!

I did! I did!
It was marketed as the second coming of Christ, so I knew it could never live up to those expectations.
But…. IT DID!
Amazing piece of technology! When I show my clients my real estate video tours on that thing…… Yowsa!
