They’re too classy to promote a potentially commercial site here so I’ll call your attention to it.
I caught a cool post about the Tale of My Two Cities by the Lady and The Top Dawg plays traffic reporter.
They incorporate a Zillow-y idea into a budding neighborhood social network where residents can register and contribute.
I’ll be able to say I was there when…
Greg Swann says:
Hey, thanks. That site is nearly as old as BloodhoundBlog, but we’ve never pushed it as hard as we should. Local-enough and frequent-enough are a real problem. If we can recruit volunteer contributors from our farm neighborhoods, that will help a lot.

It’s too cool. I love the social networking play.
If I owned a flower shop, a bakery (that one on Mc Dowell and 11th Ave), or Durant’s Steakhouse, I’d register in a heartbeat.
The Director of The Irish Cultural Center, a librarian from the Central Library, the dude who ran for Governor 8 years ago from Encanto…the list is as endless at the track being laid on Central Ave.

No question… great idea. Greg, I’m going to steal it, but when I do, I’ll be sure to tell everyone that I did.

We’ve talked about community blogging in detail here. I think the Show Us Your House idea has national potential, a kind of Hot Or Not for real estate, design and decor exhibitionists and voyeurs.

I had a conversation with Bawld Guy today about this very topic. Greg, the potential for the success of this weblog is mind blowing.
I think you have to actively seek contributors to really jump start it. More ideas:
1- All four major sports teams PR departments. Well, the three major sports teams and that NFL impostor.
2- City Government officials
3- State Government officials
4- Local businesses
5- Local community group leaders.
6- MOST IMPORTANTLY, the Phx Historical Commission rep.
7- Controversial people who disagree with you would be great. Nothing sells like a bit of drama.
At first, I thought you needed a MSM advertising strategy but I now believe you can go viral if you get the contributors to invite readers from the mailing lists.
The Show Us Your House feature is brilliant because it appeals to pride of ownership. So many people have a lot to be proud of in those historical districts.
I haven’t been able to get this idea off my mind all day. Don’t be surprised if Jeff Brown and I start picking your brain for an investment site based on yours.
