Just that quick:
The song is not new. If he were truly net.wise, Hank could have had this done the same day he quit/got fired. Even so, he’s close enough in time for the response to resonate.
I’m not taking sides in any of this; the man was a fool to go off message when we was making a PR run at a dipshit talk-show. But: The whole episode is fun to watch.

Timothy Theiss says:
Hank’s songs have always inspired me and his last song, Red, White and Pink Slip Blues” spoke loudly for me but it never received much airtime. I guess that song was also too much “Freedom of Speech”. I am concerned that hard working Americans don’t have time to be politically active. I am concerned that true journalism seems to be a thing of myth and urban legend. So, “Thank you Hank for speaking my mind with your new song, Keep the Change”.
And Thank you Greg for speaking yours . . .

Tim: BadlandsCountry.com. All three Hanks, lots of Hag, Waylon and Willie and a bunch of alt.country, Austin country and alt.Austin. Even so, the playlist is full of new sounds, including newgrass and new traditional. A lot of everything, minus Garth McGraw, with a hard core of badass rebel redneck music. We’re down to this and Hard Bop at home, and Badlands travels if you have the internet and iTunes in the car.

Brian Brady says:
“I will keep my heroes
Pictures on the wall
I’ll keep my family safe
You bluff when I call
I’m gonna keep my big V8
Keep my friends the same
Keep the government outta my business
And y’all can keep the change”
