Greg mentioned in an email an “overture” and I thought he meant that he wanted to share the link love. It wasn’t in Latin, so I grazed right over it- I completely missed that he was inviting me to be a Bloodhound Blogger! My first response was telling my husband that Greg was making fun of me and using words that I should know (umm, I do have a B.A. in English, but I haven’t practiced in a while, so my fluency is fading…).
Upon realizing the gravity of the situation, I had to return ad fontes (as DuBellay would put it) to the other Bloodhound Bloggers’ first posts. That messed me up even more- I feel obligated to be intellectual (Greg Swann), comical (my hero- Kris Berg) and be able to tell a great story (Teri Lussier). Instead, I will carefully select a dog I most relate to; that seems logical, right? First, I had to wonder if I would relate to my American Eskimo, but I don’t shed quite as much as he does, and I don’t feel the need to constantly walk behind my Person with my nose on their back leg at all times (I mean all the time, never ever never ever stopping, even if my nose is wet). Instead, after further consideration, I’ve decided I’m a French bulldog.
I appointed myself as a French bulldog because I am small, I think I’m funny, I am playful and I make a great companion. My drawbacks are my big ears (not literally) and that I dig a lot. I really do dig- I am constantly absorbing hundreds of blogs, websites, newspapers, business journals and Fox News simultaneously- it’s a problem… I’m working on it. But, I’m potty trained, I don’t usually drink from the toilet, and I learn new tricks every day- I might just be the fresh addition BHB needs!
I am (purposely) not a licensed Real Estate Agent, nor am I a Realtor, but the only thing I’ve ever known is Real Estate. I confidently address issues and news in our industry from a voice of the consumer with knowledge of Real Estate. At Realtor Wives, I’ve found a great platform in which to opine on Real Estate and I know that it will be a fun experiment being a French bulldog on the Bloodhound Blog.

I like the little Bulldog. Maybe for Saturnalia we’ll swap out out photos for our favorite animal avatars. Dibs on Odyesseus, just in case.

Still stinging over the sidebar incident. Which reminds me, “Bulldog” comes after “Berg” – Be careful what you wish for.
Now, you KNOW I am kidding, of course. Welcome, Lani! You are going to be a fantabulous addition. I think the two of us could wreak some serious havoc. Maybe we can stealthily take control of the Bloodhound while the boys’ backs are turned. Send me an email, I will outline my plan to, beginning tomorrow, talk only about shoes, make-up, and casserole recipes here. Cathleen and Teri, you’re invited, of course.

OK – all you female dogs, quit yer yippin’. π (Just kiddin’, please don’t hurt me.)
I’ve been following Lani since her first blog, mainly because she came onto my site and acted like anything but a bulldog. I think purring was involved. π
We’ve even spoken on the phone a couple times. She knows what she wants and who she is, isn’t afraid of the former, and is happy with the later.
I expect her to rip it up her first few weeks in the pound. Folks coming here aren’t used to the wife’s viewpoint. Nor have they ever run into such a strident warrior for the biz – who’s not an agent.
You’ll find out quickly – Lani has not only already drank the Kool-Aid, she’s mixing her own version. π She’s the real deal. But you’ll have to see for yourself.
Strap in and hold on. Me? I’m gonna stand on the sidelines to watch the fun stuff go down.
Welcome Lani. (Dogs barking in background)

Kris: Do you like to cook? One of the four books I am writing at the moment is a recipe book. Basically, my mom has a huge collection of recipes that she has saved over I know a 27 year period. A lot of these recipes I have no idea where they heck they came from, but since I am a picky eater, I need some testers to offer comments!
Let me know what you want to cook one night and I will pour through the recipes and see what I got.

Oh,dear. Dog wars!
Remind me to introduce you to Yeti, my daughter’s American Eskimo. Lives in Seattle but hates the rain; won’t go out without his raincoat. Learned long ago how to roll down the back window of my Explorer, the better to bark at trucks. Loves to snuggle whenever I’m wearing black, drinks only bottled water and howls whenever he hears “Me and Bobby McGeee” sung by pretty much anybody.
Having begun the same day, I figure we’re as close to brother and sister as we can get. This is going to be fun!

Okay, if we are picking dogs, and I do like the French Bulldog, btw, but seeing as that’s taken, I dibs a Mutt.
