The side effect of our “everyone gets a trophy” feminized society. People seem to think that they have a right to a job (or car, or home, or …) and have forgotten that they have to work for what they get and most of the time a job is a thankless task.
The guy’s right … Recognition is nice but the paycheck is the reward.
Great speech, great show. And I agree with Brad, I think there’s a littttle more going on here than a ‘feminized society’ at play. Peggy does work extremely hard, but she stumbles over her own ambition, and that’s more of the problem here. And, yeah, Don is a drunk.

I don’t try and have personal needs met at work… something I learned early on and thank god, the modern world of corporate culture scares me.

Watched it Monday night and thought about my job immediately. There are layers upon layers with this show.
But the salient point is: Don’t ask for a thank you…Its your job and Thats what the money is for!

Since when is a job or an employer required to fulfill one’s dreams?
Dreams are self realized.
I am fond of saying, “you want vision, join a cult, you want a job, talk to me.”

Growing more fond of this show with each episode… Don’t know how long it will hold my attention, but for now it is good TV.
This was a good exchange and we shall see if Peggy embraces the concept.
I’m glad that I find the “helping people” part of my job just as rewarding as the compensation.
