Greg Swann says:
Oh, cool. The Android display is 326 pixels per inch?
June 8, 2010 — 10:04 am
jay seville says:
No, supposedly the math comes out to 250 pixels/inch on Droid Incredible.
Don’t know that it matters much for the human eye though. Haven’t compared.

Greg Swann says:
Where that 326ppi is going to really matter is on the next iPad. I’ll bet a bunch of tablet cloners went home with soiled shorts yesterday.
IAC, each man to his own saints. I hope Apple feels pressure from Android and Blackberry. Better for everyone.

jay seville says:
indeed.
I don’t think either of the are feeling pressure from blackberry though haha. That’s why I left BB.
And more companies are letting employees use iPhones, etc. so BB needs a dramatic turnaround or it will be yahoo or msn in search.

I would like to get one, but wouldn’t want to extend my contract. I think within 2 years verizon will have this. Regarding the phone itself. They say it is slimmer than the other models. It doesn’t look that way from the pictures to me. I can’t wait to try it out.

Don Groff says:
Lot’s of great improvements. I am betting ready to drop my blackberry tour for the EVO 4G. I prefer the open operating system of Android compared to Apple controlling everything. Granted they make a fantastic product but eventually Android will surpass them. Although Apple as a company is doing fantastic they are doing the same thing they did with the PC market. Allowing multiple manufactures to create hardware and not limit development of software apps will eventually allow Android OS phones to surpass the iphone in usability.

jay Seville says:
yes i agree the open source model is destined to win out. what is the wait time for an evo now; i assume 1 month?

yikes is apple faking their density of pixels ?
i am not trying to be difficult or anything but this was a timely story .

No, that’s pitiful quibbling from the congenital-follower claque. The Windowsish world can’t surpass Jobs because they live by copying him. Their one hope is that he’ll slow down as he gets older.
Meanwhile, snag yourself a copy of Safari 5. It’s a beautiful experience.

obviously i need an url shortener on my phone.

Jane Michaels says:
They keep making the phone thinner and thinner and that seems to be a selling point, but won’t there come a time when it’s too thin? That’s what I’m worried about. It has to be comfortable to hold as you are speaking on it. Maybe this is a minor quibble but…

I will say it’s the best looking phone now. Crazy slick. Love that metal edge going around the device.
