…today is probably the day to make contact with your state’s U.S. Senators.
(Incidentally, if you want for your political communications to have maximum force, you have to do more than write a check. You’ll get double the impact is you make a photocopy of your check — and then mail the photocopy to your candidate’s opponent. This should be very effective over the next two years in “purple” districts.)

I can’t think of a big government program my senators wouldn’t vote for. But, there are probably Senators who can be swayed.

I hear you, but we can’t just wait till the next election. If we want a change we have to at least try.
@Greg
I like the “photocopy check” idea. Might be worth adding a note to both mailings stating something like:
“I don’t fund/vote Republican or Democrat. I don’t fund/vote parties. I fund/vote for the candidate who promises to ________.”(Fill in the blank: cut spending, stop bribing, reverse the government’s takeover of the economy, etc.) As long as you’re sending a check, tell ’em how they can get another one. Seems to work for the lobbyists.

CNBC is reporting that the deal has been struck. It needs to be voted on but it looks like 8k until April 30th 2010 and 6,500k for step up buyers.

Love the photocopy idea. May I suggest printing it on pink paper? It’s the only way an incumbent can get a pink slip.
